We have an almost three year old in my house, ad well as a freshly turned one year old.  Yeah, you could say we'd better have childproofed our place!  Luckily, my toddler doesn't really get into much, it's my one year old daughter that's the adventurer.  She loves pulling open the cabinets and drawers in my kitchen as I'm cooking dinner.  Or whenever really!  It's been a godsend getting these cabinet locks!  It's a bit sad to see her poor little crushed face when she realizes she can no longer pull open and throw about my pot holder and lids all willy nilly! Nova Nuts poppy seeds review

I love getting to try out ANY food related products, so yes poppy seeds.  At first, I wasn't sure what I'd do with one pound of unwashed poppy seeds, but I soon found a multitude of recipes in which to use up a good portion right away.  I started out making a nice little poppy seed cake with lemon frosting.  My family loved it!  Especially my toddler son, I think he enjoyed the fact that we were able to have it for breakfast.  I also have made some poppy seed muffins since yesterday, and plan on making a few more batches to freeze for later.  They've been great to send my husband off to school with.  The poppy seeds themselves are fantastic!  Full of not only flavor, but vitamins as well.  I would highly recommend getting a bag for yourself and your home pantry.

Cold Pressed extra virgin olive oil

I promised myself if I was able to work with Gourmet Living again and got to taste test another olive oil, the first thing I'd do is leave a meatball recipe for you guys to try out that I make with it.  Honestly, a good olive oil makes a world of difference.  Let me tell you a little bit about the olive oil first.  Yes, I cracked it right open the moment it arrived!  It's not weird to have multiple olive oils open in one's home that are used for different things, right?  The first recipe I made using the oil was a salad dressing.  Nothing fancy, I wanted to taste the olive oil mainly.  It was just as wonderful as its predecessor.  Smooth, buttery, and with an almost peppery after-taste.  It was delicious!  I of course also got out a hearty bread to try in it as well and it did not disappoint.  Now, on to this meatball recipe!
3lbs ground turkey
1/2lb sweet Italian sausage
3 cups of Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
1 cup parmesan cheese
2/3 cup of whole milk
2 eggs
3 tb olive oil
1/2 cup fresh parsley
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
mix it all together, shape into meatballs, brush the tops of the meatballs with olive oil, and bake at 400 for 40 minutes.  They are amazing!

Mochi squishy animals review

This little set of squeezy animals were so fun! They came with a set of seals, rabbits, ducks, koalas, pandas, tigers, bears, sheep, kitties, and a chicken.  My toddler was instantly fascinated.  I was a bit apprehensive to give them to him because they are quite small and I didn't want his infant sister getting ahold of one and giving it a test chew.  I did end up giving him the little yellow duck to pack around with him for the day.  He really enjoyed setting it in his plastic kitchen and making quacking noises.  It was totally worth a bit of stress to watch him be totally enthralled by this curious yellow sticky and squishy creature.  To my knowledge, he's never really had a toy such as that before.  I will say, although Mr duck and his set of friends are unique and fun, they do pick up debris from everything!  Sadly, ducky had to be tossed by days end, but my son was more than happy to choose another friend to play with him the next day. 

Since these do come twelve to a pack, I decided to give a few out as party favors after my daughters birthday party.  The kids loved them as much as my son did, I think!  We had a small party of kids running around making all kinds of cute animal noises.  They're definitely a hit in my family!

Tissue paper pom pom kit

So we just had the most amazing birthday party for my sweet little, now one year old daughter.  It was a blast!  I decorated our place a week beforehand, and I'm glad she was able to enjoy all the paper "poofs" as my toddler son calls them.  The whole kit was super easy to put together.  I really didn't expect that.  Plus, I was even able to involve my two year old.  He untied the strings to the pom poms, and I tied them to the tissue paper and fluffed them.  He also helped me hang them from the ceiling.  Our place looked so festive!  I would highly recommend this kit!  It's almost everything you'd need for birthday, shower, graduation décor.  I received so many compliments on how well and beautifully my house was decorated.  I even had offers to take the décor after the party was over! 

After the party, I decided to keep all my "poofs" and hang them in my daughters bedroom as part of her regular room theme.  I'm not sure if she notices yet ;) but my son sure liked my idea!  He enjoys going in and counting all his "poofs".

Lucy star night light

Let me start off by saying, my kids are obsessed.  I have an 11 month old, and a two and a half year old.  They love Lucy!  She's unintentionally helping my two year old with his colors, he loves carrying her to bed with him, and my baby loves to give her kisses because she's so soft and squishy.  I love setting her to rotate through all her colors as my kids watch and my son shouts out the color names.  She's made bed time a bit easier too!  I tell my son to "go grab Lucy" as we get ready to walk down our dark hallway to his room for story time.  I also enjoy as an adult that Lucy charges through a USB and doesn't require batteries.  So much easier, seriously.  I would have to give Miss Lucy two thumbs up, I'm sure if they could tell you, my kids would as well!
